Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AgentLights application and the agentlights.com website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using AgentLights, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

AgentLights is a macOS menu-bar application that displays a glanceable status indicator ("traffic light") for AI coding agents such as Cursor and Claude Code, based on activity reported locally on your own Mac. The Service is provided for your personal or internal business use.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use AgentLights on Mac computers that you own or control. You may not:

resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Service;
reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
use the Service to build a competing product.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your use of the Service and for complying with all applicable laws, and with the terms of any third-party tools (such as Cursor or Claude Code) that you choose to use alongside AgentLights. AgentLights is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those tools or their providers.

4. Updates

We may release updates, which may add, change, or remove features. The "Check for Updates" feature contacts agentlights.com to compare your installed version with the latest available release. You are not obligated to install updates, but some features may depend on running a current version.

5. Payment

If a version of the Service is offered for a fee, the applicable price and any taxes will be shown at checkout. Refunds, where offered, are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content, is owned by AgentLights and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or logos.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free, or that any status it displays is correct.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AgentLights and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50.

9. Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
